Estonian Language Comedy

After pioneering Stand Up Comedy in Estonia for a year in English, Comedy Estonia finally got the chance to fulfil one of its major goals from the start: to perform shows in Estonian also. For us this was very important, we always wanted the “laughing revolution ” to be for Estonian people, not just foreigners living here. We also believe in the power of Stand Up as an art form and that when Estonian people could perform in Estonia, in their own language, some great stuff would come from it.

The first Estonian show was performed in Tartu on April 26th 2011 to our largest audience ever in Vilde. The show was an electric night with the audience aware they were watching a little bit of history take place.

Comedy Estonia is now proud to be able to perform Stand Up shows in Estonian also. Unlike our English shows which have new material every month, we aim to develop the Estonian show into an hour and eventually a two hour program which we can perform all over the country. If you would like to try Stand Up in Estonian (or English) we run monthly Open Mic nights at Möku in Tartu where you can have a chance to perform for 6 minutes.
